Soviet and Russian painter, People's Artist of the Russian Federation (2007), Merited Artist of the Russian Federation (1999), member of the St. Petersburg Union of Artists. Studied at the art and ceramics school in Dulevo, then at the Leningrad Art and Pedagogical School and the Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after I. E. Repin. Worked in portraiture, genre painting, landscape, and still life. Awarded the Silver Medal of the Academy of Arts. Exhibition participant since 1965; first solo exhibition in 1983. His works are held in museums and private collections worldwide.
